Four common problems often encountered during the installation process of aluminum veneer

Oct 12, 2024

For aluminum veneer production enterprises, raw materials and processes determine the quality of aluminum veneer products. Whether the installation of aluminum veneer is professional has become the key to determining the quality of the project. As the saying goes, 'three parts of manufacturing, seven parts of installation.' Without proper and responsible installation and construction, even the best products cannot achieve the expected decorative effect.

The installation of aluminum veneer is a highly technical task, and unprofessional construction may result in unevenness of the entire aluminum veneer curtain wall, thereby damaging its aesthetic appeal and even affecting the safety of the building. So what are the common problems encountered during the installation process of aluminum veneer today? At this time, aluminum veneer manufacturers will introduce four common problems and solutions commonly encountered during the installation process, hoping to be helpful to everyone.
One is that the board surface is uneven, not vertical, with narrow seam width and inconsistent height
1. Careful operation is required when installing embedded parts and expansion bolts. When installing the skeleton, make sure to draw horizontal and vertical lines, and the plane should be flat. Then, use a theodolite to check for process acceptance.
2. The positioning and drilling of aluminum plates and skeletons must be accurate.
During the installation process of aluminum veneer, it is not allowed to install it randomly. The installation construction must strictly follow the requirements of the installation drawings and the position of the snap line. Before installing aluminum veneer, the size and shape of the board should be checked, and installation can only be carried out after the inspection is correct.

The second issue is that the joint sealing is not tight, uneven, with bubbles and water seepage.
1. The back of the board was not blocked with polyethylene foam during caulking, and a certain pressure was not formed when filling the sealant with caulking, which made the board joints not firmly bonded and sealed.
2. The on-site installation workers are not proficient in operation, resulting in uneven spacing and pressure at the filling joints, causing uneven thickness, multiple joints, air, uneven surface of the sealant, bubbles, and water leakage.
3. There are quality issues with the material of silicone sealant.
4. Carefully insert the sealing filler, ensuring that the distance between the filling surface and the board surface is consistent, and the depth of the sealant is consistent to make the joint dense and the joint surface straight.
5. Installation workers should be proficient and stable in filling joints, maintaining a consistent distance. As air is embedded, once bubbles appear, they will burst and be smoothed with a trowel.
The third issue is that the closing process is not firm, smooth, and compact.
Before installing aluminum veneer, it is necessary to prepare a closing plan and adopt a reasonable closing plan for different structures and situations.
When installing aluminum veneer, strict and standardized operation is required, and the essentials should be mastered.
4, Surface contamination and indentation of aluminum veneer.
1. The protective film was removed too early, and the finished product protection measures were improper.
2. Improper protection of the finished product during the installation of the next process resulted in impact on the board surface.
3. Do not remove the protective film too early, it is better to remove it when dismantling the scaffold.
4. Practical and feasible finished product protection measures should be formulated during the installation of aluminum veneer.
5. Clean and scrub contaminated areas in a timely manner.
